President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has traveled to London, United Kingdom, for a brief private visit following his participation in the summit on ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, France. Originally scheduled to return to Abuja on Saturday, President Tinubu will be back in the country in time for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.
During the summit, President Tinubu engaged in significant sideline meetings with fellow heads of state and government, prominent global business leaders, as well as chief executives of major multilateral and development finance institutions from around the world. This provided him with a platform to promote his advocacy for expanding the fiscal space, advocating for economic justice in Africa amidst the global energy transition, and emphasizing the urgent need to address critical issues such as poverty and climate change.
President Tinubu’s presence at the summit allowed him to project Nigeria’s stance and priorities on the international stage, contributing to discussions on global financing and socio-economic development.
