Alleged Harassment: Pastor Chibuzor Accused of Forcing Late Deborah Samuel’s Family to Vacate Apartment

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has reportedly instructed the family of the late Deborah Samuel to vacate their apartment due to overdue rent. The family had spoken to the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) about their current struggles with the pastor.

According to Deborah’s parents, contrary to claims that they were provided with a free apartment, they are actually facing eviction because of rent arrears. Deborah’s father, Emmanuel Garba, mentioned that he was given a used vehicle for taxi services, which subsequently broke down.

Apostle Chibuzor, apparently unhappy with the interview, singled out Emmanuel during a church service and demanded to know who had provided interpretation, as the family could only speak Hausa. The pastor then ordered the family to leave their current apartment and move to a mini church estate. He also gave them three bags of rice and N20,000 in cash.

The family expressed gratitude for the pastor’s gestures but maintained that they did not tarnish his image and could not lie about their living conditions.

The situation has generated controversy, with discussions surrounding the pastor’s actions and the family’s interview.
