JAMB Announces Admission Cut-Off Mark for Universities and Polytechnics

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set the minimum score required for admission into Nigerian universities at 140 points, while for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education, the minimum cut-off marks will be 100 points. These decisions were reached during the 2023 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, held at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja.

The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, clarified that the specified points are the minimum requirements, but it does not mean that institutions are obligated to adhere strictly to them. Institutions may still have their own specific admission criteria and may choose to set higher cut-off marks for admission.

Further details regarding the admission process and other related matters are expected to be released by JAMB in due course.
