Last Opportunity: Apply for the 2023 NNPC/SPDC/Total Energies/NAOC Scholarship Scheme

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), as the operator of the NNPC/SPDC/Total Energies/NAOC Joint Venture, is dedicated to advancing its Social Investment program in the field of Education. The objective of this initiative is to foster academic excellence and bolster the employability of young Nigerians. To this end, SPDC is pleased to welcome applications from suitably qualified Nigerian students who have been admitted to full-time academic programs during the 2021/2022 session. These students are invited to apply for the University Scholarship Scheme.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

This scholarship program, which is based on merit, comprises two categories: the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award. It is open to all Nigerian citizens.

Areas of Operation Merit Award

This category is specifically available to Nigerian students who are natives of the operational regions of SPDC, encompassing Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers states.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
– Hold citizenship of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
– Be registered as full-time undergraduates at an accredited and approved university in Nigeria.
– Either be in their 200 Level of study or possess documented proof of admission into an undergraduate program for the 2021/2022 academic session.
– Not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship provided by an entity within the Oil and Gas Industry, whether national or international.

Application Procedure:

1. Ensure you possess a valid personal email account.
2. Submit all applications exclusively through the online platform 
3. Applicants vying for the Operational Area Awards should provide scanned copies of letters of identification, which must carry proper stamps and signatures from both the Paramount Ruler of the Community and the Chairman of the Community Development Committee or Community Executive Council (CDC or CEC). These letters should be addressed to: The Manager, Social Performance, The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), Shell Industrial Area, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Documents must not exceed 200KB in size and must be in JPEG format.

Important Notes:

– SPDC and its Joint Venture partners do not demand payment from applicants for the application process. The application is completely free of charge.
– SPDC and its Joint Venture partners do not appoint “Representatives/Agents” to facilitate the application process.
– The application window opens on July 26, 2023, and closes on August 23, 2023.
– Only shortlisted candidates will receive invitations for the proctored computer-based test.
– Successful candidates at each selection stage will be notified.
– All applications must be submitted through the official Shell Nigeria website.
