In its 300th Official Assembly convened on Thursday, 27th July 2023, the Senate of Lagos State University convened and subsequently granted endorsement to an important proposition. This proposition pertained to the initiation of the “Lagos State University Alumni Association (UK Branch) Scholarship Programme Scheme,” as presented by the esteemed Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni, NPOM.
With great dedication, the Alumni Association (UK Branch) has established an innovative Scholarship Scheme named the “Lagos State University UK Scholarship Programme.” The primary objective of this scheme is twofold:
i. To extend support to fifty (50) deserving students of the University who are encountering challenges in the payment of their tuition fees.
ii. To alleviate the financial burdens faced by students in meeting their academic expenses, simultaneously promoting the academic progress of these beneficiaries. Additionally, this initiative aligns harmoniously with the Vice Chancellor’s fifth strategic goal, which aims to enhance students’ well-being and foster a sense of reciprocity towards their cherished alma mater.
The specifics of this Scholarship Scheme are detailed as follows:
CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY:
a. Must be an active full-time undergraduate student currently enrolled at Lagos State University.
b. Should be in their second year (200 level) first semester up to the first semester of 500 level.
c. Must have successfully completed and passed all academic requirements for the present academic year.
d. Must have sustained a commendable Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of no less than 3.5.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: The application window has been extended by the association and will remain open until Thursday, 31st August 2023, with the cutoff time set at 11:59 p.m.
