WAEC has prolonged the registration period for the 2023 GCE (2nd series)

This announcement is to notify the public that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has authorized an extension of the registration period for the 2023 GCE 2nd Series. The registration cutoff date has been prolonged until October 1, 2023. Prospective candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to enroll and finalize their registration.

Registration for the 2023 WASSCE for Private Candidates, Second Series, will be conducted online. To register, candidates need to acquire a Registration PIN and then proceed to www.waeconline.org.ng. It’s important to note that the registration process includes biometric features for validation at examination centers.

Candidates should also be aware that all WAEC Past Questions, both objective and theory, along with their solutions and answers, are now accessible online. This eliminates the need to carry multiple past question papers or books to excel in upcoming exams, as both Objective & Theory questions and answers for previous years are available.

Registration Period:
The regular registration period is from July 10th, 2023, to October 1st, 2023.

Payment Method:
Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of Eighteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty Naira (N18,000) at designated banks or accredited agents. This payment will provide them with the Registration PIN and information VCD. Additionally, candidates will be charged five hundred naira (N500.00) as a commission to the banks/accredited agents.

Candidates can also use various cashless payment channels listed in the new advertisement to obtain a registration token using credit/debit cards.

Walk-in Candidates:
Candidates who wish to register after the regular registration period may do so as “Walk-in Candidates” if they register at least twenty-four hours before the scheduled time of the paper(s) they intend to write. The fee for “Walk-in Candidates” is Thirty Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N30,500.00).

Candidates with Special Needs:
Candidates with special needs should also register online like other candidates but must clearly state their impairments, such as visual, low vision, spastic, speech, hard of hearing, etc.

Where to Register:
Candidates can visit accredited banks, cyber cafes, WAEC offices, and “WAEC REGISTRATION POINTS” nearest to them for PIN purchase and registration.

Completion of Registration:
Candidates must complete their registration within two weeks of first accessing the website during the registration period. They should ensure that their personal information, including names, gender, passport photographs, dates of birth, and subjects, is accurate. Candidates should also print the Admission Notice as evidence of successful registration, which will serve as identification during the examination. The Result Checker PIN will also be on the Admission Notice. An acceptable fingerprint scanner is the UareU digitalPersona fingerprint device.
